This year’s theme, Poetry Collages, pairs AANHPI poetry and music with collage-making, giving students space to explore identity, reflect on how different parts of who they are connect, and create in ways that feel curious, creative, and meaningful.

RepresentAsian Matters Summer Program: Rooted in Joy

Centered on this year’s theme, Rooted in Joy, the program invites students to notice joy in small moments, take creative risks, and build connection through shared experiences. Through storytelling with AANHPI women, creative reflection, and cultural exploration, students practice joy together in ways that feel real, grounded, and affirming.
Drawing Connections: Art & Activism w/ Madalyn Drewno
Art tells the stories the world does not always want to hear. This workshop invites AGI middle schoolers to explore how art and activism work together with intention. Students create postcards with purpose, engage in a guided gallery walk on current events, and learn how creativity uplifts marginalized voices.
Steeping in Stories: Tea Crafting w/ Christine Young
Steep into an afternoon of tea, storytelling, and cultural care with Korean American herbalist Christine Young. You will explore herbs, craft your own blend, and connect with others in a space created for grounding and healing.

Was getting out of your comfort zone on your 2025 goals? End the year with your AGI community at Movement RiNo for our final Community Climb of the year. We’ll spend the afternoon bouldering, connecting, and cheering each other on, one hold at a time. No experience needed!

Community Care 101 w/ Huệ Helen Nguyễn from The Abolition Garden

Imagine walking into a room where care, activism, and connection all come together and YOU get to shape what happens. At the event, you’ll dive into the what, why, and how of community care, then put it into practice by building community care kits that will go directly to people in Denver who need them.
Self-Defense Workshop

Imperial Gym is generously donating this course as an in-kind gift to our community and it is hosted by our very own Lotus Collective. Join us for a self-defense workshop designed to build confidence, teach practical skills, and strengthen community bonds. Students will learn boundary-setting, simple escapes from common grabs, how to protect personal space, and safe ways to fall and get back up.
Roll With It: Beginner Roller Derby w/ DRD & RMRD
Middle School
Roller derby mixes teamwork, energy, and a lot of fun. With guidance from professional skaters in Rocky Mountain Roller Derby and Denver Roller Derby, your child will step into a safe, supportive space to try something totally new.
Process Over Perfection: Dance Workshop w/ Judy Tran
High School
Perfection is exhausting. Dance offers freedom.Join choreographer Judy Tran for a hip hop/K-pop workshop created just for them. Expect movement, music, and honest conversations about perfection, with plenty of space to show up as you are. No dance experience needed, beginners welcome! 💃🙌

Join pastry chef Thoa Nguyen of Banh & Butter for a hands-on cake cup workshop where students will layer flavors, hear Thoa’s story of embracing risk, and leave inspired to express themselves in new ways. 🧁✨
