About Danielle Stratton
Danielle Stratton is a Filipino-American educator, artist, and advocate for community-based learning. Originally from Oklahoma and now based in Colorado, she teaches in Aurora Public Schools and just got her graduate degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education at CU Denver. Coming from an ancestral line of weavers, she has been studying weaving patterns from across the Philippines as a way to reconnect and revitalize the work within her own line to continue building a bridge from past to present and future. As a co-lead of Padayon Cultural, Danielle helps organize cultural programs that highlight dance and music from across the Philippines, weaving together art and education in her work.
About Padayon Cultural
Padayon Cultural is the Filipino-American Community of Colorado's (FACC) cultural performance group, dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of the Philippines through dance, music, and storytelling. Rooted in the spirit of Padayon—a Visayan word meaning "to move forward" or "to continue"—the group embodies the resilience, strength, and continuity of Filipino heritage.
