Each fall, Asian Girls Ignite hosts Diwali CelebrAsian, where AANHPI youth create a joyful and welcoming space for community, storytelling, and tradition. Led by 10th graders Jessica and Priya, the celebration brings families together through light, connection, and cultural pride.
Event Diaries: Layers of Expression- Cake Cup Creations
AGI students explored what it means to take creative risks in a sweet and inspiring workshop with local pastry chef and entrepreneur Thoa Nguyen. Through storytelling, and cake decorating, students discovered how creativity, courage, and identity come together, one swirl of frosting at a time.

On a bright fall morning, youth from Asian Girls Ignite and Convivir Colorado came together for a day of connection, leadership, and joy. Designed and led by students, the AGI x Convivir Youth Summit created space for belonging, dialogue, and cross-community friendships that continue to inspire long after the event.

Nearly 70 students and families joined us for Invite to Ignite: Open House, a celebration of food, friendship, and community. Through brunch, student panels, affirmation portraits, and creative stations, families experienced the many ways AGI fosters belonging and connection for AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth.

Our annual Picnic & Paddle brought families together for a joyful day of paddleboarding, play, and delicious food. From first-time adventures on the water to shared meals and laughter on shore, we celebrated community, culture, and connection in the heart of Colorado’s great outdoors.
Applications Now Open: 2025 AGI Wellness Grant
Wellness looks different for everyone. Four Colorado AANHPI students will each receive $500 to support their self-care through the 2025 AGI Wellness Grant.
Event Diaries: Family Campout with CACEN & Outdoor Asian
The AGI Family Campout was a joyful gathering of Colorado AANHPI families, filled with paddle boarding, campfire s’mores, cultural games, and lasting connections. In partnership with CACEN and Outdoor Asian Colorado, we created a space to slow down, enjoy nature, and strengthen our community.

How Asian Girls Ignite Students Became Storytellers During Our 2025 Summer Program
Last month, our students put connection and community into practice. Every day of our RepresentAsian Matters 2025: I Am Powerful summer program took place in the beautiful Denver Botanic Gardens. A perfect backdrop for a week centered around identity and collective care. On Connection & Community Day, we were joined by two incredible storytellers: Tran Nguyen-Wills and Abi Clark. They both led a youth-powered workshop exploring the art of interviewing and the magic of deep listening.

Celebrating AANHPI Roots at Mile High Asian Food Week in Denver
At Asian Girls Ignite (AGI), food is more than just fuel—it’s a celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) culture, community, and connection. Since 2020, our Denver-based nonprofit has been lucky to partner with amazing AANHPI-owned restaurants, food trucks, and drink spots that keep our youth programs, staff, and events nourished and joyful.
As Mile High Asian Food Week (MHAFW) returns from April 27 to May 3 in Colorado, we’re celebrating the local AANHPI food and beverage businesses that have supported AGI through the years. From Vietnamese iced coffee and mochi to dumplings and creative plant-based eats, these culinary gems in the Denver food scene have become part of our story—and we can’t wait for you to experience the magic too.
