Meet Our 2026 Summer Program Storytellers Inspiring AANHPI Youth in Denver
Each summer, Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) brings together middle school students across Colorado for a transformative week of identity exploration, creative expression, and joyful community building. What truly sets our program apart are the storytellers—an intergenerational group of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) women and gender-expansive change-makers in Denver who ground each day’s theme in lived experience.
In alignment with our 2026 theme, Rooted in Joy, our storytellers guide students to embrace joy as an everyday practice. From artists and herbalists to audio engineers and AGI high school camp guides, these storytellers reflect the vibrancy of our community. They use storytelling to build bridges—honoring where we’ve been and inspiring who we are becoming.
Before the first journal page is filled or the first friendship clicks into place, these are the people already holding space for your child.
The Daily Journey: Exploring the Lenses of Joy
From July 13–17, 2026 at the Denver Botanic Gardens, students will navigate the week alongside these incredible storytellers:

Asian Girls Ignite is exactly what I wish I had when I was growing up, it's really inspiring to know that there's a program where storytellers can connect with youth to inspire and offer a point of view that might be helpful for them. A place for them to gather, socialize and be validated in their own unique identity and experiences.
