At our AANHPI community self-defense workshop in Lakewood, Colorado, Asian Girls Ignite and Imperial Jiu Jitsu & Kickboxing created a supportive space where youth and families strengthened safety awareness, practiced boundary-setting, and built real-world confidence through practical, empowerment-based training.

AppreciAsian Affair 2025 brought together donors, partners, parents, and youth to celebrate five years of impact, honoring Chef Penelope Wong and the voices of AANHPI students reclaiming belonging, leadership, and cultural pride through Asian Girls Ignite.

Community Care 101 brought AANHPI high schoolers together with storyteller Huệ Helen Nguyễn to explore identity, belonging, and community care. Through stories, reflection, and hands-on action, students learned how small acts of support strengthen connection and youth leadership.

At the Roller Dome in Denver, AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth in grades 6-8 explored courage, teamwork, and belonging through Asian Girls Ignite’s Roll With It: Beginner Roller Derby workshop.

What began as a choreography workshop became a lesson in listening to the body, trusting the process, and letting joy lead. Through movement and community, students found the courage to be seen, not as flawless performers, but as young people growing into their power.

Each fall, Asian Girls Ignite hosts Diwali CelebrAsian, where AANHPI youth create a joyful and welcoming space for community, storytelling, and tradition. Led by 10th graders Jessica and Priya, the celebration brings families together through light, connection, and cultural pride.

AGI students explored what it means to take creative risks in a sweet and inspiring workshop with local pastry chef and entrepreneur Thoa Nguyen. Through storytelling, and cake decorating, students discovered how creativity, courage, and identity come together, one swirl of frosting at a time.

On a bright fall morning, youth from Asian Girls Ignite and Convivir Colorado came together for a day of connection, leadership, and joy. Designed and led by students, the AGI x Convivir Youth Summit created space for belonging, dialogue, and cross-community friendships that continue to inspire long after the event.

Nearly 70 students and families joined us for Invite to Ignite: Open House, a celebration of food, friendship, and community. Through brunch, student panels, affirmation portraits, and creative stations, families experienced the many ways AGI fosters belonging and connection for AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth.

Our annual Picnic & Paddle brought families together for a joyful day of paddleboarding, play, and delicious food. From first-time adventures on the water to shared meals and laughter on shore, we celebrated community, culture, and connection in the heart of Colorado’s great outdoors.

The AGI Family Campout was a joyful gathering of Colorado AANHPI families, filled with paddle boarding, campfire s’mores, cultural games, and lasting connections. In partnership with CACEN and Outdoor Asian Colorado, we created a space to slow down, enjoy nature, and strengthen our community.

Asian Girls Ignite’s 2025 RepresentAsian Matters summer camp brought AANHPI youth in grades 6–9 together for a powerful week of empowerment, identity, and community in Denver, Colorado. Through culturally responsive programming, students explored themes like legacy, dreams, and self-expression—building confidence, connection, and lifelong memories in the process.

On a warm Sunday evening, the AGI community came together for our End of Year CelebrAsian—a joyful night filled with reflection, food, connection, and celebration. From honoring our graduating seniors to sharing stories on our Community Welcome Wall, this evening reminded us how powerful it is to grow and shine together.

CelebrAsian 2025 brought AANHPI middle and high school students together for a heartfelt evening of connection and self-care—celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month and honoring AANHPI Mental Health Day.

AGI hosted an event for our middle school students, “Art of Being and Belonging” This event encouraged participants to express themselves, build confidence, and develop public speaking skills as they explore their identities through storytelling.

STEM Sparks at the Colorado School of Mines was an unforgettable day of discovery, hands-on fun, and community for Asian American youth! With the support of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), students explored STEM through interactive activities and connected with inspiring AANHPI professionals. From building play-doh inventions to learning from real-life STEM storytellers, this event was all about sparking curiosity, confidence, and new possibilities!

Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) students and Convivir Colorado came together for a magical day of ice skating, community building, and creativity at Evergreen Lake. From gliding across the ice to warming up with hot drinks and crafting, this event celebrated friendship, cultural connection, and the power of shared experiences for Asian American and BIPOC youth in Colorado.

Asian Girls Ignite (AGI) celebrated the Year of the Snake with middle and high school students in Colorado, bringing together the community for a day of reflection, fun, and tradition. The event featured a lively lion dance, creative crafts, and activities that encouraged connection and personal growth. Students participated in a mega-handshake challenge, enjoyed cultural games, and reflected on their goals for the year ahead.
