END OF YEAR CELEBRASIAN: A NIGHT TO CELEBRATE OUR COMMUNITY

On a cozy Sunday evening, the Asian Girls Ignite family came together for our End of Year CelebrAsian to close out the school year. Gathered in the shared warmth of our community space, students, families, and friends shared food, memories, and gratitude as we honored everything we’ve accomplished together.

As families and students arrived, they were greeted by our Community Welcome Wall, a space to reflect and share from the heart. Two simple yet powerful prompts invited everyone to contribute:

“A memory about AGI that makes me smile…”
“I knew I belonged in this community when…”

Guests were invited to add their voices to the wall—offering stories, snapshots, and moments that captured what AGI means to them. It was a beautiful way to start the evening grounded in connection, belonging, and shared joy.

Take a look at what memories our community holds dear to their hearts ❤️:

We kicked off the evening with reflection—on how far we’ve come and the collective power that carried us here. From powerful storytelling to everyday moments of growth, this year has been filled with sparks of brilliance from our students and the support of our village. One of the brightest highlights? Together, we raised over $14,000 in May during our Ignite Our Light campaign during Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Hawaiian Islander Heritage Month (AANHPIHM)! This incredible milestone was made possible through the generosity of our Guardians of Light Collective, who matched donations and reminded us what it means to show up for one another with love. Some of those families were in the room with us that night, and their presence made the celebration even more special.

Asian Girls Ignite students celebrate graduating seniors

The event was co-planned with our Youth Leadership Committee (YLC), and we’re so proud of their care and intention in shaping the evening. (P.S. YLC applications are open now!) A surprise presentation led by YLC member Katie and Elise honored our graduating seniors—some of whom have been with us since the very first AGI meeting! Watching them grow over the years has been nothing short of inspiring. Their leadership, creativity, and heart have helped shape AGI into what it is today, and we’re excited to see the brilliance they’ll bring into their next chapters.

Dinner from nOW pHO

No celebration is complete without a good meal! Dinner was served by Now Pho , a Vietnamese restaurant in Denver’s Little Saigon district on Federal Blvd. We enjoyed comforting dishes like fried rice, grilled beef spring rolls, pork and/or vegetable egg rolls, fried dumplings, and crab cheese wontons.

Friendship and playing Games

The rest of the night was filled with laughter, friendship bracelet making, photo-taking, board games, and conversations that reconnected us to each other.

To our Asian Girls Ignite community: thank you for being a part of our world. Whether you’ve been with us since day one or just joined us this year, your light makes this space what it is. We hope your summer is filled with sunshine! And if you are joining us for our summer program, we will see you very soon!

To our seniors: we’re endlessly proud of all you’ve accomplished and even more inspired by who you’ve become along the way. Your light has left a lasting mark on our community, and we can’t wait to see how you’ll continue to shine as you step into this next chapter. Wherever you go, know that AGI is always cheering you on. 💛

Thank YOU!

Together, we raised $14,005 to fuel programs where AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth can explore who they are and shine in their full brilliance. Whether you donated, shared our mission, or cheered us on—you illuminated pathways of possibility, belonging, and joy.

To our Guardians of Light Collective, your matching gift magnified every spark, reminding us that when we shine together, our light reaches farther than we ever could alone.

We are forever grateful.

Let’s keep reaching for the stars—together. 🌟
