How Asian Girls Ignite Students Became Storytellers During Our 2025 Summer Program

Ever wonder what an Asian Girls Ignite workshop really looks like? Thanks to KUVO Jazz Public Radio, you can see it for yourself!

Last month during Day 3 of RepresentAsian Matters (our summer program), we turned the spotlight on storytelling. We welcomed two powerhouse storytellers:

  • Tran Nguyen-Wills (she/her), Deputy Outreach Director for Office of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston

  • Abi Clark (she/her), Senior Community Producer & On-Air Host at KUVO Jazz Public Radio

They led a workshop on the art of interviewing and the magic of deep listening. With the high school camp guides by their side, our middle school students:

  • Wrote thoughtful interview questions

  • Earned their official AGI Press Passes

  • Interviewed Denver Botanic Gardens staff about food, art, and community care

  • Turned those conversations into reflection zines and posters

The best part… you can see the joy in action. The curiosity, confidence, and laughter right here:
